The Front Wing of Pen y Graig provides comfortable, spacious accommodation with views from the front of the house across the countryside and from the side windows to the sea.
The house is furnished in keeping with the age and style of the property. All the rooms are large and spacious and feature original pine doors and slate fireplaces - even in the bathroom!
Only the sitting rooms open coal fire is now in use which adds a special touch during the winter months and at Christmas. A complementary bucket of coal is provided for your visit. There is a large comfy three piece suite, 26" lcd tv, dvd, cd/radio and a selection of books.
Across the quarry-tiled hall, which has hanging space for coats and a table with plenty of brochures and information on places to visit, is the dining room. This has a wooden floor and large dining table and chairs. Through an archway in the dining room is a modern galley-style kitchen (newly installed for 2010) with a ceramic hob, electric oven, cooker hood, fridge and microwave.

Both upstairs and downstairs are two lockable interconnecting doors. When both Wings are rented together these can be opened up and the house becomes one.
 
Upstairs are two comfortable bedrooms.
The double bed has a kingsize duvet. On the landing stands a mahogany cot made by the owner for his son. The twin bedroom is very spacious and has countryside and sea views. The large family bathroom with bath, basin and w/c has an electric shaver point and overhead blow heater. Towels are available to hire.
The sunny little porch has a portable BBQ and chairs for the picnic table, which is on a paved area in the front garden. This enclosed lawned garden is east facing and catches the sun in the mornings and afternoons.
Electric convector heaters are fitted in all the rooms and a charge for the electricity used is made by meter reading at the end of your stay.
There are parking spaces for two cars (per Wing) in the courtyard at Pen y Graig.

THE BACK WING  - to sleep 4 and cot

The Back Wing of Pen y Graig has a calm and peaceful atmosphere which helps for a relaxing holiday. The quarry tiled floors and beamed ceilings downstairs give this Wing its rustic charm. All the rooms are furnished in a traditional style and have seaviews - with the exception of the shower room.
The living/dining room was originally the farmhouse kitchen so the woodburning stove stands where the kitchen range once was in the inglenook. A complementary basket of logs is provided for your visit. This room now has a comfy sofa, rug, wooden farmhouse chairs, old pine wall cupboards and dining table. A 22" lcd TV, DVD player, cd/radio, large bookcase full of books, brochures and information on places to visit are there for your use.
The hand-made farmhouse style kitchen is spacious, has an electric fan oven, ceramic hob, fridge and microwave. Through the kitchen is a utility area with belfast sink and washing machine. Also a shower room with electric, step-in shower cubical, basin, w/c, electric shaver point and overhead blow heater. Towels are available to hire.

The stairs in the living room take you to the two comfortable and airy bedrooms. The double bed has a kingsize duvet. Both rooms have lovely views over Church Bay and Holy Island where you can see the ferries leaving for Dublin.
In the porch is a freezer and tumble dryer and plenty of hooks for coats and space for wellies and boots also a couple of fold up garden chairs and portable BBQ.
The south-west facing patio is a wonderful suntrap and has a driftwood beam for a bench and a picnic table. To the rear of the property is an enclosed lawned garden for the Back Wing.
